John's New Blog-Most of us grew up in an environment where reading, studying, and preaching the Word meant everything. In recent years we have witnessed a new appreciation of arts as part of Christian worship, devotion, and formation. Paintings, stained glass windows, and icons - largely abandoned during the Protestant Reformation - are means of God's grace, conveying wisdom, inspiration and, new perspectives. My blog, Contemplative Vision (www.contemplativevision.wordpress.com) pairs a work of art with the coming Sunday's scripture. There are resources to aid praying and mediating with the artwork.
