Forest Heights United Methodist Church is a congregation
endeavoring to be faithful in mission and ministry to the
call of God. Our vision is to become a loving, caring and
sharing community of faith where every member feels a
sense of belonging through small groups that hold them
accountable for their spiritual journey and help them find
their ministry in the world. Our mission is to make disciples
of Jesus Christ through worship, nuture, outreach and
witness. Numerical growth is important but we do not see
that growth as our primary function as a congregation.
Faithfulness to God's call on our lives and growth in God's
grace are at the very heart of who we are as a congregation.
We are blessed to have people eager to grow in their faith.
There is a strong emphasis on worship and the importance
of worship drawing us closer to God. Programming involves
Bible study, Wednesday night dinners, women of the yarn
ministry, youth and young adult ministry, Chancel Choir,
Tapestry (women's vocal group), The Sparks (men's vocal
group), and other events. There are numerous ways to serve
beyond the walls of the church. These include jail ministry,
tutoring programs, and community construction projects.
Our members are not content with only involvement within
the church. They realize they must help take Christ to
the world.
